Welcome to the Internet Virtual Laboratory!

We believe that the internet's wide reach and low cost structure afford it vast potential as a medium for economic surveys, experiments, and instruction. With the Internet Virtual Laboratory (IVLab), we explore the use of the internet as a medium for survey research.

The Internet Virtual Laboratory is a research project of the Institute of Business and Economic Research, University of California, Berkeley. It is sponsered by the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), Cambridge, MA, and by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the National Institute of Aging (NIA), both at Washington, DC.

Do you want to take part in one of our surveys?

Are you interested in becoming a part of this research effort right away? We are offering one survey to the public at this time, the Retirement Perspectives Survey.
